The practice of regarding the thermal properties of concrete as constants may lead to serious errors in heat flow calculations. Because of the physicochemical instability of concrete it is very difficult to procure valid experimental information. In this paper theoretical considerations are presented which, together with some experimental data, will make the assessment of the thermal properties of concrete possible. The calculation procedure is illustrated by examples.
