Abstract

The incorporation of facial emotion recognition (FER) technologies in university courses mediated by LMS systems allows the student's emotional state to be identified in real time, facilitating personalized pedagogical interventions and, in this way, improving educational experience by adapting content and strategies according to emotional needs, thus promoting more effective and human learning. A systematic literature review on facial emotion recognition technologies in university LMS environments allows to identify advances, gaps, and trends in their implementation. This rigorous assessment informs pedagogical and technological decisions, guiding future research and improving the emotional adaptation of learning in digital contexts of higher education.
