The strength of a glass container under different types of loads will be determined by several interrelated factors. Varying stresses will be produced at different locations on a bottle surface when loads are applied to the bottle, due to different bottle shapes, wall thicknesses and wall thickness variations. This study provides a method which may be used to describe the stress and strength at each location on a glass container surface, and also provide a fracture strength distribution for certain types of loads.
