Abstract

This project aims to conduct a systematic literature review on failure causes and corresponding mitigation strategies in 3D printing (additive manufacturing). We adopt the PRISMA 2020 framework to identify, categorize, and analyze common issues occurring during the AM workflow — including design and preprocessing errors, geometric and dimensional deviations, and failures in real-time error detection and response. The final goal is to provide a comprehensive guideline that helps reduce print failure rates and improve print quality across various AM technologies.
