This paper is devoted to numerical simulations of the short-term behavior of\nthe spatial temperature distribution in a geothermal energy storage. Such\nsimulations are needed for the optimal control and management of residential\nheating systems equipped with an underground thermal storage. We apply\nnumerical methods derived in our companion paper [15] in which we study the\ngoverning initial boundary value problem for a linear heat equation with\nconvection. Further, we perform extensive numerical experiments in order to\ninvestigate properties of the spatio-temporal temperature distribution and of\nits aggregated characteristics.\n
