Abstract

Piateskii-Shapiro defined local L-factors L^PS(s,Π,Λ) attached to irreducible admissible representations Π of the group GSp(4) over local fields and Bessel models of Π attached to Bessel data Λ. These local L-factors decompose into a product L^PS(s,Π,Λ)= L^PS_ex(s,Π,Λ) L^PS_reg(s,Π,Λ) of an exceptional and a regular L-factor. In this paper we compute the exceptional factors L^PS_ex(s,Π,Λ) for split Bessel models of Π.
