The current state of the art for analytical and computational modelling of\ndeformation in nonlinear electroelastic and magnetoelastic membranes is\nreviewed. A general framework and a list of methods to model large deformation\nand associated instabilities (wrinkling, limit point, global bifurcation) due\nto coupled electromechanical or magnetoemechanical loading is presented.\n
