Technological innovation uptake in agriculture is crucial for improving productivity, sustainability, and resilience. This systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis, based on Scopus data from 1985 to 2024, explores technology dissemination methods in agriculture. Analyzing 261 documents with an annual growth rate of 8.49%, the study highlights global collaboration and focuses on key issues such as food security, climate change, and resource management. The study includes 1,005 authors, 32 (3.73%) single authors, and 33.33% in international collaborations. It identifies 920 author keywords and 12,224 references, with an average document age of 8.13 years and an average citation count of 18.72. Significant focus areas include ICT-based tools, precision agriculture, participatory extension approaches, and public-private partnerships. Despite their promise, challenges such as low awareness, cultural barriers, poor infrastructure, and energy constraints hinder widespread adoption. The study also highlights research gaps, such as the need for context-specific studies and longitudinal analyses of the impacts of digital content. It emphasizes the need for capacity-building, supportive policy frameworks, and investment in digital infrastructure to foster long-term agricultural development. This review guides researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in addressing global farming challenges and promoting food security.
