Abstract

The method consists in the monitoring of the temperature variation of a\nsuperconductor tape subjected to a trapezoidal current pulse. Simulations of\nthe experiment were performed using the lumped capacitance model and also the\nfinite element method. The former reproduces the sample's reaction for the\nincreasing and decreasing parts of the pulse. The same can be said for the\nfinite element method but the decreasing temperature as expected is not\nadequately reproduced. Treating the problem in two dimensions rather than one\nshould correct the situation. Nethertheless we obtained a thermal conductivity\nconsistent with the literature.\n
