This article tries to clarify the role of cine- ma as a medium in the complex and heterogeneous contemporary audiovisual horizon. The essay functionalizes Elsaesser’s mind-game movie theory and verifies it as a central epistemological category in the film debate through the analysis of one of the most self-reflexive mind game movie of recent years.
