Abstract

Recent political mobilization by blacks in Colombia challenges notions about the “invisibility” of blackness there and the structural difficulties of political mobilization. It also raises issues about the analysis of cultural politics and the deconstruction of cultural “inventions” without thereby invalidating them as a locus of ethnic solidarity.
