Despite being the largest group of healthcare professionals and predominantly female, nurses remain underrepresented in executive roles, which are often held by men. Barriers such as perceived inadequacies in managerial competencies and persistent gender-related biases may contribute to this disparity. The review explores how nursing interventions in management positions and bedside nurses' interventions, where available, impact their effectiveness in organizational outcomes and patient care quality. Additionally, it seeks to evaluate whether the inclusion of nurses in leadership positions fosters improvements in healthcare management due to their patient-centred perspective and proximity to clinical care.
