Abstract

A trial that aimed at studying the role of spraying in the efficacy of phytosanitary treatments, in this case with copper and sulfur, was organized in 2023 over a whole vineyard block in an organic farming estate located in the south of France, with georeferenced precision spraying and many replications of each modality. Thanks to a spatialized statistics study of the presence of powdery mildew using a zoning derived from control data, a diagnostic of the differences of the efficacies of the 7 evaluated modalities was obtained and included disease pressure, applied dose and its distribution on the sides of vine rows. The methodology of the experiment rests on precision agriculture techniques. Yet, the conclusions that can be derived are applicable to any sprayer. This study is a methodological step towards evaluation of the impact of spraying methods on biocontrol.
