Salamanders of the genus Ambystoma, known to transport molluscs (e.g. the Pea Clam, Pisidium adamsi) during spring migrations, were found also to be active in the dispersal of a plant (the Bur-marigold, Bidens cernua).Because of the circumstances, the contribution made by terrestrial amphibians to the dispersal of this species may be significant.
